THE OFFICE AUSTRALIA
FROM FRIDAY 18 OCTOBER, PRIME VIDEO COMEDY
Socially-awkward manager David Brent is one of the greatest comedy creations in TV history. So reimagining Ricky Gervais’ infamous character for an Australian version of The Office sounds a daunting prospect for any actor.
However, when TV Times books an exclusive meeting with star Felicity Ward at a posh London hotel to talk about the project, she’s excited about putting a fresh spin on the nightmare boss with her role as hapless managing director Hannah Howard.
‘At first, I wondered why they were remaking it,’ shares the comedian, 44, ahead of the eight-parter’s launch on Prime Video this week. ‘But when they told me they wanted a woman as the lead, I thought it made sense. After all, if you’re going to redo something after more than 20 years, you have to have a pretty serious point of difference from the original!’
