SANDITON

NEW FRIDAY, 9PM, ITV DRAMA

(BOX SET, ITV HUB)

The season-one finale of Sanditon left fans devastated as heartbroken heroine Charlotte Heywood (Rose Williams) returned home to Willingdon after her beloved Sidney Parker (Theo James) married wealthy widow Eliza Campion (Ruth Kearney) to save his entrepreneur brother Tom (Kris Marshall) from financial ruin.

A second series of the sumptuous Regency-era drama, inspired by Jane Austen's final, unfinished novel of the same name and adapted by BAFTA-winning screenwriter Andrew Davies, premiered on BritBox in March (and is still available on the service) - and now, the six-parter is making its highly-anticipated debut on ITV.

The action picks up nine months on, as spirited Charlotte finds herself drawn back to the picturesque (fictional) seaside town.

TV Times visited Rose, 28, and Kris, 49, during filming on set in Bristol to find out more...

'CHARLOTTE ISN'T DRIVEN BY LOOKING FOR A HUSBAND' - Rose Williams

Where do we rejoin Charlotte and Tom as the series opens?

ROSE We meet a lot of the characters from the first season in a different place - Sanditon has moved on, and Tom Parker's vision [to turn it into a fashionable resort] has started to come to life.

Charlotte's been working on the farm, intending to go back to Sanditon to see her friends, but then one of them pays her a visit, and that's her introduction back into the town.
