Strictly’s Gorka Márquez and AJ pritchard on taking to the stage for a special performance…
NEW ENTERTAiNMENT
BBC Music’s The Biggest Weekend
HOLIDAY MONDAY / BBC IPLAYER
You’d be forgiven for thinking that Strictly is a seasonal affair.
The glitzy launch show marks the start of autumnal Saturday nights in front of the telly, and the countdown to the final is a sign that Christmas is on its way. But for the show’s professional dancers, Planet Strictly is open to visitors all year round!
As part of The Biggest Weekend event, Coventry will host a one-off Strictly performance starring Gorka Márquez and AJ Pritchard, along with fellow pros Chloe Hewitt and Amy Dowden. The televised music festival will be shown across BBC1, BBC2, BBC4 and iPlayer from Saturday.
When TV Times catches up with Gorka, 27, and AJ, 23, they’re about to set sail on a Strictly cruise! But before we bid them ‘bon voyage’, the dancers give us their take on this very special performance…
So, what can we look forward to from Team Strictly at the event?
AJ: We’re going to be performing with the BBC Concert Orchestra, so it’s going to be fantastic – there’ll be solo dances, group numbers and something a bit different.
