'Lady Whitworth is Ghastly!'

Looking splendid in a silk pewter coloured period dress, complete with delicately embroidered sleeves and elegantly accessorised with an ornate necklace, Rebecca Front is all smiles as she enters a meeting room inside the Poldark filming studios in Bristol for our interview.

TV Times has had the pleasure of chatting to Rebecca many times over the years, and she’s always an absolute delight – fun, friendly and full of anecdotes.

Unfortunately, though, none of these lovely attributes could ever describe her character in the hit Cornish costume saga – the formidable Lady Whitworth, mother of villainous vicar Osborne Whitworth (Christian Brassington).

After making her debut with an episode-stealing scene earlier this series, Lady Whitworth returns to the vicarage this week to make life even more miserable for Ossie’s sweet wife Morwenna. And there’s more gloom in store when a shocking event turns the Whitworth household upside down.

Here, Rebecca, 54, reveals why she’s relishing the role…

How would you describe your character, Lady Whitworth?
