He may be 3ft 6in tall, but Warwick Davis, star of film and TV, has never let his height hold him back in life.
Starting this week, Warwick, 50, narrates a new three-part documentary following other Brits with dwarfism, people challenged on a daily basis by a world not designed for short people.
‘There are 66 million people living in the UK and just 7,000 of us have the rare genetic condition of dwarfism,’ Warwick tells us.
‘In this series we follow the ordinary lives of extraordinary people whose short stature gives them a unique perspective of life in Britain today. They’re confronting prejudice and taking on the world.’
In the first episode we meet 18-year-old Louis Makepeace. At just 3ft 10in, he’s nearly 2ft shorter than the average height, and throughout his life he’s been told that his restricted growth would inevitably get in the way of his dream of becoming a chef.
