Jane McDonald on her BAFTA triumph and latest cruise adventures…
Seeing Jane McDonald cruising – and singing – her way around the globe has proved to be far more entertaining than anyone could have guessed.
Thanks to the star’s infectious enthusiasm for everywhere she visits, Channel 5’s Cruising with Jane McDonald has become must-see viewing and last month won a much-deserved Best Features BAFTA.
This week, Jane, 55, returns for a fourth four-part run, beginning with a two-part trip to Australia and New Zealand.
Here, she reveals what’s in store and her thrill at getting a BAFTA…
So, how does it feel to have a BAFTA?
Incredible. We’ve all practised winning in the mirror but never in a million years did I think it’d happen. I thought they’d made a mistake! We don’t do this for awards, we do it because we love it. But getting a BAFTA means the world. It’s acceptance to a TV club.
