Forget Ant and Dec. There’s a new double act in town this week as two of the biggest TV stars team up for an adorable turn in ITV drama Doc Martin.

That’s right, rescue dog Dodger (a Westie-Jack Russell Cross), who plays the Doc’s dogged pal Buddy, welcomes his best mate Paddy (a Jack Russell Cross), star of Midsomer Murders and the Dog’s Trust adverts, on to the show. He’ll play a stray called Bob, who will vex the Doc…

We’re pleased to report that off-screen Paddy and Dodger (who is currently shooting the film Mary Queen of Scots with Martin Compston and David Tennant) still have their paws on the ground.

They run over to give TV Times a warm welcome, and with them is trainer Sonia Turner, who describes herself as a ‘proud parent’ watching her dogs on TV. She tells us what it’s like working with animals…
