At the end of the second series of C4’s sci-fishow Humans, the man-made Synths became conscious with minds of their own. The result was chaos across the globe as the robots immediately stopped doing the jobs they were programmed do to. Planes fell out of the sky, cars crashed, chemical plants were abandoned, and 110,000 human lives were lost. The third series begins a year on from that disastrous ‘day zero’ with Synths feared and hated by humans. They are oppressed and, for the most part, segregated.
