New York-based jewellery designer Melissa Kaye’s creations are edgy, vibrant, and timeless. She has been in love with jewellery for as long as she can remember. “I can’t pinpoint a specific moment that turned me on to jewellery, but I’ve been in love with it for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I had a bench set up in my bedroom and was always working on new projects. To this day, my mother has held onto a few of my childhood designs.” After finishing her two-year jewellery design program at the Fashion Institute of Technology which focused on both design process and bench work, Melissa Kaye launched her eponymous label.
Her jewels are cheerful and radiate optimism, with its vivacious neon shades. A melange of florescent hued enamel and diamonds come together in her pieces, a style that has become exclusive to Melissa. She describes her jewels as ‘Fun Luxury’. “We strive to create jewellery that is made of the highest quality materials, that is functional, innovative, fun, beautiful, and collectible. We take great pride in our meticulous craftsmanship. All of our pieces are handcrafted by expert artisans in NYC, using responsibly sourced precious metals and stones. We consider our jewelry to be investment pieces that are meant to be worn and enjoyed daily.”
Her latest collection Ada mimics a unique chain pattern, bursting in shades of neon pink, green, yellow, orange, and more! One look at these pieces and you are transported to a candy factory! “I’ve wanted to introduce a custom chain for a while: something unique, true to our aesthetic and that would work in all of our signature finishes (gold, diamond, and enamel).
We strive to create jewellery that is made of the highest quality materials, that is functional, innovative, fun, beautiful, and collectible. We take great pride in our meticulous craftsmanship.
