Talk of these things usually makes one&rsquo;s head explode, but it&rsquo;s essential fodder for discussion in the realm of fashion, especially now that everyone seems to be producing, oh, a billion collections a year &ndash; a move that comes with serious consequences and creative challenges. &ldquo;The acceleration of the seasons, of the proposition [of the collection] you have to do, is the hardest thing. You have to stay focused. There&rsquo;s no denying that this collection borrows plenty of elements from previous ones. The much-raved about vinyl boots have the same heels from SS15, and are cut into the shape of the LV monogram flower. The handkerchief prints, seen on most of the Pre-Fall silk garments, are similar to those from FW16. Second-skin pants, which reappear this season accented with leather trimming, were a foundation of Nicolas Ghesqui&egrave;re&rsquo;s debut collection in FW14. Malletage quilting (a previously underrated detail originally used for the interior of luggage trunks that was reintroduced as a vital component of new designs upon Ghesqui&egrave;re&rsquo;s arrival) has now been appropriated for a cropped moto jacket and done in a mirrored material previously seen in FW15.<img src="http://magarticles.magzter.com/articles/6272/225015/593010461bc1d/1496322105069.jpg"" owidth=1304 oheight=1688" style="height:647px; width:500px" />The heavy referencing notwithstanding, the PF17 collection is quintessentially &ldquo;now&rdquo;. There&rsquo;s plenty of denim with modern touches: the jean pockets are stitched with a graphic &ldquo;V&rdquo; while the blouses are fringed at the hems. Several treatments, like lace tops rubberised to create a 3D effect, show the house&rsquo;s technical innovation. And the A-line skirts are trimmed with bright orange leather and fastened with turn locks, a favourite detail commonly found on today&rsquo;s It bags. The puffer jacket emblazoned with chevron lines is a contemporary travel staple &ndash; sure it&rsquo;s cropped, but hey, that allows more movement, something our L&rsquo;Off Squad gal Tabitha Nauser greatly appreciates. &ldquo;My personal style is a mixture of high fashion and street wear. I love getting all dolled-up but I&rsquo;m also a bit of a tomboy, so comfort is key,&rdquo; she says. &ldquo;I think most of the time people are surprised by my outfit choices because they would never imagine the mashup working &ndash; but it does!&rdquo;
