Corinne! We’re happy to have you on the cover of Muscle and Fitness Hers, everyone has their fitness journey, could you tell us a bit about how it all started for you?
Thank you, it is an honor to be on the cover of Muscle & Fitness Hers inspiring others to be the best they can be at any age. My fitness journey began in 2017 when I turned 52 (It’s never too late!) I was a farm wife and for 20 years my focus was on marketing asparagus and other produce grown on the farm. You could find me at farmer’s markets, community events, or on the farm doing tours. Growing the farm business was my focus. Even though the farm lifestyle kept me active and moving (and I thought I was fit), that summer my weight topped 148lbs. Being 5’3” the extra weight was quite uncomfortable. I first thought it was because of menopause and changes in hormones. Going through menopause is a puzzle and my body didn’t respond like it did in my younger years. Nothing I did before was working. With my 60th year on the horizon, I knew something needed to be changed. I decided to commit to a 6-month body transformation program which was delivered entirely online. With the combination of accountability, balanced nutrition, resistance training, and a proper mindset I began to see results. I reached my goal of bringing my weight down to 118 lbs within the 6-month program and knew a new goal was needed to keep me from slipping back into old habits. I was ready for my next goal and decided to compete in a Fitness Competition (Amateur Bikini Division). And sure enough in the Summer of 2018, I achieved this goal.
