Caroline Corr used her love of colour to take her country house renovation to another level

Colour and music are synonymous, so it’s hardly surprising that musician Caroline Corr wanted to up the ante when updating her new home’s somewhat muted scheme. After moving into the pretty country house in Somerset in 2014 with her husband Frank and their three children, Caroline resisted temptation to go for the predictable country florals and pale pastels.

The house was traditional in style and in need of a refresh, but it still had so much going for it. ‘We loved the proportions and light, and the fact that every window had a view,’ says Caroline. As well as wanting to put their own stamp on the place, the couple felt they needed to make changes to the layout, so that it worked better for them as a family.
