The home: The Coach House at Dunowen House, Co. Cork Who lives here? Kela, Stephen and their three children.
Kela and Stephen’s house move and subsequent renovation work was no small task. Following a long harboured dream they gave up their careers in marketing and finance in Dublin to move to Cork and open a luxury holiday rental business - Dunowen House.
The house, now used as a boutique bed and breakfast and high-end holiday accommodation, was home to musician and the Jimi Hendrix Experience’s bass player, Noel Redding for 30 years so a lot of work and TLC was needed to transform it from rock and roll to a relaxing retreat.
Also on the grounds of the house is Orchard Cottage, a three-bedroom holiday home and the Coach House which is Kela and Stephen’s family’s residence.
Kela and Stephen often cater for dinner parties hosted by their guests and much of this work is done from their own kitchen in the Coach House. It was therefore imperative when the couple were renovating that their own kitchen be not just suitable for the family but also as a working kitchen.
