Make Art in the Wild
Summer is written in spilled lemonade, berry stains, melty ice cream, and chlorine. In sandy feet and shady hats and lightning bugs. If we are open-hearted enough to hear the tone of the seasons, we can chart our course and set our sails by what nature tells us. And summer tells us to get outside! The bright sun illuminates every corner of the human heart and we are drawn outside–spellbound. It’s a time when we can ease a bit from schedules and to-do’s, especially if we have children. Time drips. The days are long. We fill up the inspiration tank with travel (if we’re lucky) and lots of Vitamin D. Still now, with kids and a business–neither of which stop for the summer as school did when I was young – I feel drawn to frolic and play (even though summer in Arizona is more like winter because we tend to hide from the heat).
