FRENCH ANTIQUES AND RUSTIC COUNTRY DÉCOR BLEND TO MAKE THIS FARMHOUSE ONE OF A KIND.

THE WORD “ROMANCE” IS BASICALLY SYNONYMOUS with French culture. The food, the music and the style conjure up images of warm baguettes and Audrey Hepburn’s dresses. In Round Top Texas, homeowner and blogger of Cedar Hill Farmhouse, Anita Joyce, blends elegant French style with a rustic country feel.

“When you go all formal, it’s too impersonal,” she says. “The country element makes it feel more comfortable and more like a home than a museum.” French décor can add elegance to an already cozy farmhouse, making it the perfect home.

ANTIQUE ELEGANCE

Anita likes to pepper each room of her farmhouse with antiques. “I am drawn to the beauty and craft smanship of antiques,” she says. “I like antique settees, chairs, tables and old French laundry baskets.” In almost every room, Anita places French antique pitchers filled with flowers to add a pop of color. The juxtaposition of the white interior walls and the rusted antiques gives each room a personal history and an open, airy quality.
