Aarti Aggarwal’s Design for Goel House in Gurugram Helps Bring Nature Within Through Creative Designing and Implementation.
Designed as a modern, minimalist yet warm and cosy space, the Goel house in Gurugram gets its makeover for a few rooms by Aarti Aggarwal, Principal Designer at Knock on Wood. Spread across three floors, the house has been built around the concept of inhabitants love for spending time outdoor.
Ask the designer, what kind a home was the client looking for and she shares, “When the couple came across this property, they thought they had found it all; a perfect mix of nature and serenity packed away from the hustle and bustle, yet located in the heart of Gurugram. The Goels who have been married for 25 years, wanted to create a soulful and comfortable oasis for themselves. Hence, a conscious effort was made to incorporate nature into the interiors by opening up space through balconies and large windows.
One enters the main lobby on the ground floor, which strategically creates a visual partition for the dining area. The lobby then connects various private and public rooms like the lounge area, kitchen and parents room to each other. A dramatic staircase is the spine of the house, as it connects all three floors, and an atrium provides open space and ventilation to the interiors.
