Jenna Dewan is starting over. And it might just be her most exciting role yet.
When you’re Jenna Dewan – formerly Tatum, as in Channing – you keep on keeping on. You take your daughter, five-year-old Everly, to the bookstore. You invite your girlfriends over for “goddess circle” nights. You go to work – as a dancer, actress, TV presenter and, most recently, producer. And you get your hair done, like every woman ever after a break-up, except your hairdresser just happens to be the world’s most famous hairdresser, Instagram idol Jen Atkin, who looks after the heads of several Kardashians and some of the world’s top models, and has her own line of cult products, Ouai. And then you hash out a new life plan with her and, suddenly, things are looking up.
JA: This is like a podcast!
JD: What would our podcast be called? Jen x Jen?
JA: The Jens? Jen Times Two?
JD: Jen Bo Bens? Or Single Life in Hell?
JA: Ha! OK, serious podcast questions. Jenna, were you always good at dance?
JD: I realised early on that I loved it and that I had a knack for it. But I wasn’t always a star or whatever. Actually, at my first dance recital, when I was six, I took down the entire group of girls I was dancing with.
JA: What?
JD: We were holding hands, and we chasséd across the stage – that was our only move, and I tripped. I took all the girls down like dominoes, every single one of them. The fact I turned out to be a professional dancer is the funniest thing ever!
JA: At what point did you know that you wanted to dance professionally?
