The Tri-Star KRX Tactical Shotgun.

When I was first asked to review the Tri-Star KRX Tactical shotgun, I did a little research on this weapon and kind of scratched my head at the looks of it.

It appeared to me as if an M-16 got wet and grew a little bit, but I figured this could be a rather interesting challenge. I have always enjoyed shooting shotgun and, while I don't shoot as much shotgun as I used to, I still do like getting out onto the range with a variety of ammunition to see if I can still plink like I once could.

I gave this assignment a big thumbs-up and patiently awaited the UPS driver to drop off the KRX Tactical shotgun.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS

Like a child around Christmastime waking up each morning to see if more presents materialized underneath the tree, I kept checking out the window each day to see if the UPS driver had a long box on his cart each time he left the big brown truck. Fortunately, one morning he had such a box and it was from Tri-Star addressed to me!

Grabbing a knife from my backpack, I sliced through the shipping tape and unpacked a black box from Tri-Star that neatly housed the KRX shotgun that had been sent from Missouri.

Opening the box, I found what was exactly in the pictures I saw when doing my research. I again scratched my head and thought, this does look like an overgrown M-16. But there was more to this. I realized I was about to venture into a magazine-fed shotgun, something I had never used before.

ALL GROWN UP

I grew up shooting a lot of shotguns. Whether it was for clay targets on myriad different fields, hunting, or shooting multi-gun matches and steel and poppers, shotguns have always been a part of my life.
