Q. How would you describe yourself?
I am a down to earth, barefoot on the ground kind of person. I am caring, kind and considerate but also ambitious, strong-willed, loud and I like to laugh, a lot.
Q. What childhood memory will you always share with your child/ren?
My fondest childhood memory will always be cooking as a family. My father is Indian and my mother is vegetarian, besides the fact that we had to prepare separate meals for my mother, we always cooked a feast. The belief was anyone could knock at your door and need food, so you had to ensure you always had enough. I have shared this story with my children many a time and thankfully, this has prompted my six-year-old’s excitement in wanting to assist me when I’m cooking. Her brother has now followed in her footsteps, so I find little things for them to do which keeps that memory alive.
Q. A world without my child/ren would be…
It would be like a world without unconditional love. They have shown me what true unconditional love is about. Through their eyes I have seen the world from a different perspective and get excited about innocent things I have forgotten as an adult. I couldn’t imagine experiencing my world without them in it.
