DAWN FRENCH: ‘THE JOY BEHIND MY DIBLEY RETURN'

Like many of us, the events of 2020 forced us to adapt in ways we never imagined. Not even The Vicar of Dibley star Dawn French was immune to working from home – with the actress and comedian recalling how they filmed a Big Night In Comic Relief segment using nothing but her phone and a camping light!

“Because I could not come to London, the only way we could think to do it, was to shoot it in the back of my house,” the 63-year-old recalled. “It was supposed to be a Zoom sermon, which is what [main character and vicar] Geraldine would do as she would make sure she kept in touch with the parishioners in a safe way.”

After the year that was, the legendary British entertainer reflects on the recent The Vicar of Dibley Christmas special episodes and what recent times have taught her about family.
