AS THE SINGER COMES CLEAN ABOUT THEIR FAILED ENGAGEMENT

James Packer is “bracing himself ” for the imminent release of his ex-fiancée Mariah Carey’s memoir, with friends telling New Idea the Aussie media mogul “doesn’t expect it to be pretty”.

While James, 53, did his level best to part on good terms with Mariah when they split late in 2016, even letting her keep – and then sell – her $14 million, 35-carat engagement ring, the fallout of their split was “catastrophic”, say insiders. And now, James is preparing for Mariah’s side of the story to come out in print.

“He is no longer on speaking terms with Mariah, but his people have spoken to her people and she has confirmed their relationship will feature in this book,” tells one source.

“Their relationship was a very small portion of time in her crazy life, but it was a period that rocked her.
