One of the physical benefits of owning a dog is exercise, according to Natalie Asseraf, creative director of dog accessory brand, Gummi.
“A 20-minute brisk daily walk with your dog increases your daily steps on average by 2000 to 3000,” she says.
“Their love for the dog park and beach usually means playing catch with a ball or chasing after a frisbee, activities that most definitely get your heart rate up!”
