The disappearance of Colleen Walker- Craig has haunted her brother, Lucas, and their family for the past 32 years.

“I was 8 when our nightmare began,” Lucas tells New Idea exclusively. “It was September 1990 and Colleen had gone to a party in Bowraville. Our aunties were all there, and our grandmother.

“Mum and Dad were happy with her going. She always called to say when she’d be home, but the next afternoon we still hadn’t heard from her. Mum was very worried and went to the police.”

That’s when things got very dark for the family. It was suggested 16-year-old Colleen had ‘gone walkabout’.

“Nobody went looking for her. The police didn’t even take a statement,” says Lucas.

Understandably devastated, Colleen’s mum, Muriel, and dad, Michael, relocated from Sawtell, NSW to Bowraville.
