Best To Forget About Jets Loss

So much has gone unexpectedly right for the Bills this season that when a game like Week 9’s devastating loss happens it seems like everything has come crashing down at once. That the first seven games were a mirage, and that maybe this is more in line with what to expect over the second half of the season. That it’s the same old Bills.

Let’s not overreact to one loss, shall we?

It was a loss, and a very bad one. But the good news is that it only counts once in the standings and that the Bills are still in a good place heading into the season’s second half. At 5-3, Buffalo is well ahead of most projections and remains in prime position to end the playoff drought once and for all.

Teams are allowed to have bad games every once in a while. It was actually Buffalo’s first truly poor performance of the season. In previous losses to Carolina and Cincinnati, the Bills were in it until the end and could have come out on the other side had a few other things gone their way.

What matters now is how the Bills respond. The most difficult stretch of Buffalo’s schedule is on the horizon; there are home games against New Orleans and New England and road trips against the Los Angeles Chargers and the Kansas City Chiefs. Splitting the next month at 2-2 would probably equal success. Then Buffalo has three very winnable games in December against Indianapolis and Miami twice.
