THE Duchess of Sussex has apologized to the Court of Appeal for “forgetting” she authorized an aide to brief the authors of a controversial biography on her and Prince Harry.
The couple’s lawyers have insisted there was no collaboration with the writers of Finding Freedom.
But a bombshell witness statement from their former communications secretary Jason Knauf contradicted the claims. During a dramatic day at the London court yesterday, it was also said that Meghan crafted a “private” letter to her father knowing it could be exposed, and called him “Daddy” to pull at the public’s heartstrings if it did leak.
She then sued a newspaper that revealed the contents of the letter for breach of privacy.
The former actress said she had only written the letter because senior members of the Royal Family had put pressure on her and Harry to deal with her father after he began to criticise them.
Meghan and Harry have consistently claimed that they never collaborated with authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand on Finding Freedom.
The book presented their version of the events that led to their decision to quit their senior royal positions last year.
They even threatened legal action against the Daily Express for suggesting they did cooperate.
