Rock star Phil Collins has been secretly supporting stricken football legend Jimmy Greaves.
Greavsie, 80, was admitted to hospital earlier this week with an unspecified illness.
The ex-England hero has needed care since he had a massive stroke five years ago.
Big-hearted Phil has been privately donating cash, and often calls for updates on Jimmy – his boyhood hero.
Greavsie’s pal and agent Terry Baker said: “Phil Collins phones me regularly to see how Jimmy is and made a substantial donation.”
Phil, 69, has banked millions of pounds after a string of hits with Genesis and as a solo artist.
On Wednesday it was announced that Spurs goal machine Greaves was having tests in hospital, but his agent said it was “not coronavirus related” or a stroke.
