Grief for river victim who drowned trying to save her pet dog

Tributes have been paid to a “warm and caring” woman who died in a tragic accident in a Scots river.

Margaret Wares’s body was found in the Dighty Burn in Monifieth, Angus, on Tuesday night.

It’s believed she was trying to rescue her dog Dizee from the river, which was flowing fast as snow was melting, when she is said to have fallen in.
