Raj to get new CM soon: Venugopal

Amid hectic parleys and flying visits between Jaipur and Delhi, AICC general secretary in-charge of organisation KC Venugopal said Rajasthan will have a new CM soon. "There is no drama in Rajasthan. Everything will be clear in a day or two, and you will know who is going to be the new CM," he said in Malappuram, Kerala. The party is going ahead with the AICC presidential poll in a most democratic manner, he said.

On his arrival in Delhi on Wednesday, Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot told reporters, "We work under Congress chief and Congress is a disciplined party. Decisions will be taken as per that in the time to come. Media should recognise the issues of the country. Authors and journalists are being called anti-nationals and jailed. We worry for them and Rahul Gandhi is taking out a yatra for them. Inflation, unemployment, growing dictatorial tendency. Tackling that is more important for us. Internal politics goes on, we will resolve it."

Filing of nominations for the AICC elections will close on Friday. However, there is no announcement yet on the leadership's official choice.
