#1 Choose the right time
The best time to go on a babymoon is during the second trimester (from 14 to 28 weeks) as expectant mothers will be past the queasiness, but still small enough to get around easily.
#2 Choose the right destination
A babymoon should be relaxed, and not be straining on the mother. If flying isn’t an option, there are some nice beach locations that are within a relatively easy drive or ferry ride from Singapore.
#3 Rest and relax
Pick a place that allows you to get some downtime, such as a beach getaway or a B&B near a scenic town. If it’s a city stay, opt for more mellow activities such as taking in a show, visiting a museum or people-watching in a park. Factor in plenty of time for travel, and more for delays such as getting lost, traffic jams and extra restroom stops. It’s essential for expectant mothers to relax, so give yourself several breaks a day.
#4 Choose the right hotel
Book a hotel that caters to families. Ask if they provide extra pillows to support your body and request a quiet room away from the elevators or pools. If you’re staying in a large resort, make sure to check if the hotel offers shuttle services to ferry you around.
#5 Ensure a comfortable journey to your destination
Wear flat, supportive shoes, and bring a pillow. To avoid cramping or swelling, walk around and stretch at regular intervals. Remember to pack a first-aid kit, the phone numbers of local medical services and, of course, insurance. Cravings are inevitable when you’re pregnant, so remember a stash of food, too!
