I moved to the city of Bath in 2007 and wanted to get to know my new surroundings. I had always messed around with point-and-shoot cameras, and decided to buy a Nikon D40 as an excuse to go exploring. I learned to drive and gave myself a year to try every genre of photography, but soon discovered that I was most interested in landscapes – although I still enjoy architectural photography from time to time.
I now shoot with a Z 6 and D750, but kit isn’t particularly important when you’re just starting out. While you want to get the best possible quality in your photos, I think there’s a balance between the money you spend on equipment and the money you spend on travel. There’s no point buying the best possible kit if you have no money left over to get out there and take photos!
