A Common Sense Approach To Safety During Covid-19
Smart Photography|May 2020
We all know the current devastating health issues around the world. Yes, I am referring to the infamous Coronavirus or COVID-19. Much has been said and much has been written about it – sensible as well as stupid statements and comments from people from all walks of life. Not a day passes when we don’t hear of authentic statements or rumors surrounding the issue. People are worried, people are disheartened – some understand the implications, most don’t!

A Common Sense Approach To Safety During Covid-19

The purpose of this write-up is not to send another bolt of fear through your spine, but let’s face it, many have died due to the Coronavirus and many more will. So what can we do to save ourselves from the grip of this killer? I am neither a scientist nor a man of medicine; so what advice can I give you? My advice is not to panic but observe on regular basis, some commonsense precautions, which of course, have been mentioned before by several sane people.

If you are reading this in Smart Photography, then I can take it that you are either a photographer or a lover of this art. My advice/ suggestions also take this point into consideration.

1. Don’t create a crowd. Stay indoors. In case you cannot avoid going out of your home, keep safe distance – at least six feet between you and the next person. This also means that we avoid touching/hugging.

2. Face masks/gloves have been suggested but I believe there is lot of controversy on how effective the face masks are against the virus. Also remember that the face mask itself could become a breeding ground for the virus – hence replacing / thoroughly washing the mask with soap and water is a good idea. Wash for at least 20-30 seconds.
