One of the most-talked topics in the India-West Indies first Test match was the exclusion of R Ashwin and Rohit Sharma. Now the latter drew more prominence given the reported happenings he had with skipper Kohli post the ICC World Cup 2019. Both were said to be not rubbing off well and there were issues between the two. Kohli had also denied these claims before leaving for West Indies for the fully-fledged series. However, things were still unclear on many fronts.

Rohit is a sheer match-winner and can bat at any position. His versatility speaks for himself. When India left him out of the line-up, it was pretty shocking for fans. Legends like Sourav Ganguly and Virender Sehwag wanted Rohit to be included. Many felt he deserves to get the backing and show his worth in the format. Perhaps, at least play him for 3-4 Tests on a continuous basis and then judge his presence.
