Local favourites are given a genuinely clean eating twist at YOLO
Monegasque Alexis Bauduin has travelled and lived for so long in Asia that when it came for a time to settle in a country, he decided to start his own business in Singapore rather than return to Monaco. After learning from plenty of mistakes, YOLO was born from his desire to create a place that served up local favourites with a healthy vibe.
THE PLACE
First opening its doors three years ago, YOLO serves up familiar comfort foods created with a twist that makes them packed with good nutrients and minimal processing. It’s also one of the few halal-certified cleaning-eating diners in Singapore.
When we talk about clean-eating the usual notion is that of salads and grains, but YOLO’s concept is to take familiar dishes and rebuild them with choice ingredients. The menu features items grouped into four main categories. With names like Build, Glow, Energise and Shape Up, it’s easy to understand what the ethos of the establishment is all about.
Items like Meatballs with Pasta, Chicken Rice, and even Laksa grace the menu, but it’s not like what you would expect.
