Q: What are your views on the importance of Digital Literacy?
A: Digital technologies are neutral to how they are used. They can be used by the rich or the poor. If we have to connect the poor fraction of the society to new digital technologies, we have to make sure that a digital divide does not occur due to class separation and basic literacy in the society. Thus, focusing on digital literacy is important. Our focus in the Digital India is to use the technology for the improvement of the poor and to meet his developmental needs.
Q: What is the extent of Digital Literacy in the rural parts of the country and what are the government’s actions to spread Digital Literacy in the rural areas?

A Tipping Point Missed
Before America and the world settle in firmly to the new Donald Trumpbased reality, let’s take a little trip down the road not taken. Suppose we had woken up last Wednesday morning to a President-elect Hillary Clinton. And let’s say that, instead of former Portuguese Prime Minister António Guterres, New Zealand’s Helen Clark or Bulgaria’s Kristalina Georgieva had been picked to succeed Ban Ki-moon as United Nations Secretary-General.Clinton would have joined the United Kingdom’s Theresa May and German Chancellor Angela Merkel, helping achieve critical mass in the G7. And a female UN Secretary General would have placed women at the helm of two of the world’s three biggest international organizations (France’s Christine Lagarde already runs the International Monetary Fund).

However, the ultimate onus eventually falls back on the student, who is responsible for not only working towards performing successfully in the exams, but also to be able to manage the accompanying stressors eff ectively. Furthermore, besides the academic workloads, these additional stressors could vary from the worry of their parents, the expectations of the teachers, the comparison and competition with their peers, or the nagging from their tutors.
