OFCOURSE YOU LOVE YOUR children. But there’s no denying that sometimes, they can get on your nerves. And nowhere is that more apparent than when you’re taking long drives with them. In the confined space of your car’s cabin, their volatile combination of restlessness, curiosity, and energy can lead to frustrating situations. Still, by putting in a good deal of planning and thought to your trips, there’s no reason you can’t enjoy travel time with kids. Perhaps you can even make the whole experience fun for everyone.

KNOW YOUR CHILD’S QUIRKS

No trip is going to end well if you don’t know your child’s particular behavior. If your child follows a strict sleep pattern, try to work your trip around it to avoid tantrums and meltdowns. What are the activities, foods, toys, and items that keep your child preoccupied? Make sure to bring these along.
