Fallen for steel-framed windows and doors? Why not embrace the look on a smaller scale in a bathroom? Black-framed shower screens look equally at home in modern and period homes, so you can work the trend whatever your style.

How do I get a grid look?

At entry level, the black lines are screen printed onto glass. It’s pretty convincing but specks of black can flake off. For durability, a digitally-printed grid is the way to go – try Roman’s Liberty range. For realism, go for a real metal frame. Usually made from aluminium or steel, the frame is fixed to one side of the glass. Ensure the framing is on the outside so the interior glass can be squeegeed clean.
