As soon as I was offered the COVID-19 vaccine in April this year, I was only too quick to book an appointment. Of course, I wanted the personal protection that comes with having the jab, but I realised it was also my responsibility to protect those around me, and having the vaccine significantly reduces transmission of the virus.

People argue that having the vaccine is a personal choice, but I disagree because around them, as well.
