THE roars from jockey James Best, after he crossed the line aboard the Emma Lavelle-trained My Silver Lining in the £56,950 Wigley Group Classic Handicap Chase, shattered through those from the crowds. Not only was this the 33-year-old's "best moment of my career", but Best had gone a long way to ingratiate himself with his mother-in-law, the owner of this super grey mare.
"I probably wear my heart on my sleeve and I get very excited when days like this happen," said Best. "It's just absolutely magic because my mother-in-law owns this mare, and my wife Izzi and two boys have come with us today, so this means the absolute world."
