User friendly "Minocha Cascade House" adorns Nagpur skyline

The "Cascade House" has evolved out of the contextual perspective of the tight city plot/site, the climate and the surroundings.

Site is located in residential colony with two apartments on each side of the 5000 sq.ft. plot in a newly developing area of Nagpur with beautiful municipal garden diagonally opposite of the plot. The concept of the design stems from the desire to have seamless views of the garden from the house. The north side in front also allows more transparency and ambient light in from this side. Considering that the small plot, the building doesn't afford a large foreground and space at the front, hence the building is cascaded with large terraces on the north and successive cantilevering of the floors below.

The project brief consists of 6 bedrooms apart from Living, dining, kitchen, family, puja, home theatre and a bar. The brief is augmented further by the service areas like servants' rooms, parking, store and utility etc., which makes the project challenging to maintain the cosy look of the bungalow.
