It was the summer of 1985. I was doing my second-year probation as a Probationary Officer at the State Bank of India and was posted to Walajapet Branch. Walajapet was a sleepy little town then, about 25 km. east of Vellore, and about 110 km. west of Chennai on the Bengaluru highway. My batchmate, Thirumalaiappan was also posted in the same branch. We took to one another right from the beginning.
Our training included Project Work. We were given the onerous task of studying the problems and prospects of the leather industry in Tamil Nadu and preparing a report. Until then all we knew about leather was our shoes, purses and belts.
We commenced our task in right earnest. We visited the local SBI branches such as Ambur, Vaniyambadi and Gudiyattam. These branches, including Walajapet, had many leather manufacturing firms in their books.

Mind Your Mind!
In our society, men have traditionally been labeled as providers and women as nurturers, but there is nothing wrong with being a CEO, wife, and mother all at once. In fact, it can be incredibly empowering. It's perfectly acceptable for a woman to be the primary caregiver in the home while her husband is out working, just as it's okay for a man to be a stay-at-home parent and take a break from work.
Two Heart Beats
That lingering kiss sealed all that was expected; she felt. Sunandana Chatterjee remembered what Jayanta Ghoshal said soon after the kiss.
A Leather Story
This is not a tall story. Rather, it's a \"toal\"(al) story. \"Toal\" means leather in Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu. Please read on.

Love's Labour Lost
\"Why do we need a man if what he does is to make us women feel nothing while slogging to make a family? We can pick up our drink, and food and do things and look after ourselves.\"

Her Majesty MONI KRISHNANKUTTY
Say 'Her Majesty' and one sees, in one's mind, an elegant, grand lady with a charming smile and a caring heart. Probably and rightly so because only the queens could afford to be benevolent and had the 'luxury' to do charity. While Pazzage always made a conscious effort to find the queens amongst the commoners, this month's queen would leave its readers inspired, to say the least for Ms Moni Krishnankutty. A lady who proved that a large heart is all it takes and not money to do charity.
