Land Rover has given the Velar a mid-life facelift. We took it for a drive to find out how much has changed

There was a time when Land Rovers were considered to be rudimentary and the quintessential farmer's ride. But all that changed some time ago and now the Land Rover brand is the epitome of luxury. Adding to that are the Range Rovers which take the luxury quotient one notch higher. With every passing year, we constantly see the brand updating the models and this year it is the time of the Velar. So what has changed? Let's find out.

The Velar was always a stately-looking vehicle and now Land Rover has added a lot more finesse to it. The grille up front has been redesigned and the headlamps are now updated LED units with integrated signature DRLs. In profile, one can spot the mildly flared wheel arches and brand new 20in alloy wheels. They sure look cool and fill up the wheel arches to give the Velar a sporty hue and so do the flush-fit door handles. At the back, the new Velar benefits from new wraparound LED tail lights. The cool feature is that they come with an anti-dazzle feature which works wonders for those driving behind.
