Big Scandi adventure machine Norden 901 Expedition

Bigger, and bolder, seems to be better these days when it comes to adventure bikes. The massive success of the first BMW R1150 GS Adventure was a surprise at first. But as it’s turned out over the 20 years since, adding a bigger tank, extra crash bars, more dirt ability and tougher looks is just what a lot of people want.

Last year’s Husqvarna Norden 901 was a bit more on the soft side of the ADV touring equation. Based on the strong foundations of the middleweight KTM 890 Adventure, using its parallel twin engine and steel tube frame, the Norden 901 followed the now-familiar Husqvarna makeover recipe. That means a dash of slightly retro Nordic styling, classy paint schemes, slightly more ‘premium’ running gear, and posh metalwork touches.
