The idea was not to bring my DesertX home in Mumbai but to leave it at my ancestral house in Chandigarh, at least through the summer months so it's always on hand to head to the mountains at a moment's notice. I know it sounds pretentious to have a bike waiting for me to head to the mountains but there is a lot of riding on the cards later in the summer with Helmet Stories Adventure Tours and I want to use the Ducati to lead them. Also, I cancelled a trip to Mustang Valley in the hopes of riding to Tibet (they just opened their borders with Nepal). But it's driving me crazy that I am sitting here in Mumbai and don't get to see or ride my motorcycle.
