For locals and travelers alike, an airboat adventure promises an adrenaline rush wrapped in nature's finest showcase. When you join James "Woody" Norwood, and his best friend, Tony "Hussler" Hussey on one of their airboat excursions, I promise it will be an experience you will not soon forget.
Woody's Airboat Tours is a family-owned operation that started with a passion for both airboating and the Platte River ecosystem.
Woody and Hussler, both captains, grew up around the everchanging shores of the Platte River. Both were mentored by Tim Bryson, who pioneered airboating and airboat tours in the area.
Norwood explained that Bryson had a passion for the water and high-speed adventure in the Midwest that he passed along to all he met. Bryson started his Platte River airboat tour business almost by accident; he took one woman on a trip, and word spread from there. Bryson saw the opportunity to share the thrill of airboating in a different landscape, blending the excitement of fast-paced river navigation with the serene beauty of Nebraska's wildlife and wide-open spaces. He shared his expertise and love for the sport, introducing locals and visitors alike to the wonders of the Platte, and made certain his tours were not just about speed but also about connecting with nature in a way only an airboat can provide.
Bryson eventually moved to Florida, leaving Woody and Hussler to fill the niche along the Platte River. Now it is Woody and Hussler's turn to share this authentic way of reconnecting to nature and wildlife along the Platte.

The Beauty After the Storm
We all know in Florida it is too often a battle of not enough water so can't ride areas or they are closed or too much water and areas and/or boat ramps are closed. Well after two back-to-back hurricanes (Helene and Milton), there is certainly no shortage of water.

Nothing Beats a Good Challenge
Each year I lead guided trips in some of the most pressured gator waters in southern Georgia and use only archery equipment and my airboat to accomplish it. I love all things archery and a good challenge. I have owned airboats all my adult life and travel across the U.S. competing in bowfishing tournaments.
We've Come A Long Way Since Our First Gator Hunting Adventure
