Speed versus quality? This new-age pertinent question is on the mind of every ecommerce player – big or small. While quick commerce companies offer fresh produce at a racer speed delivery timeline, often at a premium, the mature brands prefer to focus on top-rate quality for the consumers and the ultimate well-being for the farmers. One such company, Amazon Fresh, is focused on providing a great value, unmatched selection, and best quality products, at convenient delivery slots for its customers.
One of the fastest-growing categories on Amazon India is groceries, which offers millions of products and delivers to 99.8% of India’s pin codes! Over 60 Tier II and III cities, including Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Ongole, Trivandrum, Kochi, Hubli, Durgapur, and others, are now served by the company’s expansion from last year.
Retailer caught up with Srikant Sree Ram, Director, Amazon Fresh to get his insights on how the brand was changing the online fresh produce and grocery shopping in India. “We believe that customers will engage with us till the time they find a better experience elsewhere and hence our investment is focused on building better and newer shopping experiences for them. After researching intensely, we found that the top parameters for the customers buying groceries online are quality and value. It’s still day 1 for us and we will continue to localize, innovate, and adapt to shape what digital shopping experience should be in a country like India,” elaborated Ram.
