When George C looney married Amal Alamuddin in a breathtaking wedding ceremony in Venice, he couldn’t hide his joy at starting a new life with his wife.
“We’re looking forward to everything,” the Academy Awardwinning actor told hello! before we exclusively covered the couple’s festivities in September 2014.
As they celebrated their tenth anniversary on 27 September, it would seem that they are well on the way to achieving their dreams.
Both of their careers have gone from strength to strength – George, 63, has taken on directing roles while starring in hit films such as Ticket to Paradise, while 46-year-old Amal continues to practise all over the world as an international human rights lawyer – and they split their lives between luxurious homes in some of the globe’s most beautiful locations.
To top it all, they are proud parents to twins Alexander and Ella, now seven. “It doesn’t fundamentally change you, but I’m excited to see who these two people are going to be in life,” George has said of his and Amal’s children.
“I’m very proud to be a dad. I want them to be happy. I want them to have a sense of humour. I want them to be compassionate about other people’s plights.”
FALLING IN LOVE
George and Amal were introduced by a mutual friend during a dinner party in Italy in 2013. Longtime bachelor George, who had vowed never to wed again after a brief marriage to actress Talia Balsam, was smitten straight away.
They stayed in touch via email for several weeks and finally went out in London that October.
