Brimming with energy at the release of her new album, you’d never guess Pixie Lott is still battling sleepless nights in her first year of motherhood. Indeed, at London Fashion Week in September, the singer and songwriter exuded glamour in a Simkhai trench coat, Linda Farrow aviator shades disguising any telltale eyebags as she fed 11-month-old son Albert Charles between shows.
She shares her little boy, affectionately known as Bertie, with her husband of two years, model Oliver Cheshire, and a clearly besotted Pixie says when we catch up with her at home before her album’s release: “You can hear a little bit of the baby in the background.”
In fact Encino was released last Friday, the day before her son’s first birthday. It’s the first the award-winning 33-year-old has released in ten years and it’s the first time she has co-written every track.
The London-born music star – also known for judging The Voice Kids and who now has film acting roles in the pipeline – beams as she talks about her album, cowritten with top songwriters Jeeve Ducornet and Dave Gibson and inspired by Fleetwood Mac and Joni Mitchell.
How are you finding motherhood, Pixie?
