Anne Heche, who played twins Marley Love and Vicky Hudson on ANOTHER WORLD from 1987-1991, died on August 14 at the age of 53.
The actress was born in Aurora, OH, on May 25, 1969, the youngest of five siblings. After the deaths of her father (from AIDS) and brother (in a car crash) in 1983, her family resettled in the Chicago area, and at the age of 16, she was spotted in a school play by an agent who brought her to the attention of Procter & Gamble, which then produced AW. Upon her graduation from high school, she was offered the dual roles that would go on to win her two Soap Opera Digest Awards (for Outstanding Female Newcomer in 1989 and Outstanding Lead Actress in 1992) and the 1991 Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Younger Actress. Robert Mailhouse (ex-Brian, DAYS), who became close friends with Heche after their respective soap runs, recalled on Instagram that "in the Days Of Our Lives' make-up room, whenever Anne's scenes from Another World would come on the TV, the entire cast and make-up crew would freeze; we would all just look up at the monitor, and quietly, in absolute awe, study her work. We were all floored. She was intense, mysterious. What she offered on screen was beyond anything I'd ever seen on daytime TV."
