Remembering Billy Miller, Who Died At 43

Three-time Daytime Emmy-winner Billy Miller died at 43 on September 15, two days shy of his 44th birthday. In a statement, his mother, Patricia Miller, shared, “I want to personally thank the many fans & personal friends for the overwhelming amount of love, prayers & condolences sent to me and my family on the devastating death of my beautiful son BJ. Billy Miller fought a long hard valiant battle with bipolar depression for years. He did everything he could to control the disease. He loved his family, his friends and his fans but in the end the disease won the fight and he surrendered his life. The other causes of death being told are not true. I wish they were but they just aren’t. We all loved him so much and are desperately trying to deal with our loss.”

Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma and raised in Grand Prairie, Texas, Miller became interested in acting while attending the University of Texas. He first hit the daytime scene in 2007 as ALL MY CHILDREN’s Richie Novak before joining the cast of Y&R as Billy Abbott the following year. It was during his time in Genoa City that Miller picked up his three Daytime Emmys (two for Supporting Actor, one for Lead Actor). In 2014, he began a five-year run on GH, playing Jason Morgan, who was ultimately revealed to be Drew Cain. Miller also appeared on shows like SUITS, which is having a resurgence on Netflix, RAY DONOVAN, RINGER, with Sarah Michelle Gellar (ex-Kendall, AMC), and NCIS.

When he left GH in July 2019, Miller shared a video message in which he penned a heartfelt letter to fans, which read, “Hello friends, With a slight air of sadness, it is time to ponder what ‘Goodbye’ means. However, instead of dwelling on what is gone and sure to be missed, there is another way.
