KASSIE DEPAIVA ON GH COMEBACK

Kassie DePaiva, who played Blair on ONE LIFE TO LIVE from 1993 until the show's cancellation in 2012, and made multiple visits to GH as Blair that same year, was most certainly not expecting a call 11 years later from her former OLTL boss, GH Executive Producer Frank Valentini, about reprising the role yet again.

"It was kind of crazy," DePaiva begins. "I was traveling back to New York from visiting my parents in Kentucky. It's a long drive, and I always stop in Cleveland and visit Robin Strasser [exDorian, OLTL]. I get to kill two birds with one stone - I get to visit my [soap] fam and my real family. Anyway, for some reason, my phone wasn't ringing, and when I looked down it said, 'Missed call,' and it was from Frank Valentini. I'm thinking, 'Well, that's a mistake. But when I got home, I saw that he'd left a voicemail. He was saying, 'Hey, want to run something by you and see if you're interested.' So I called him and he said, I've got this idea. Would you be interested in doing a couple of days?' I said, 'Sure!'"

The offer marked DePaiva's second soap comeback in 2023, as she recently aired on DAYS as Eve, a role she played from 2014-20. "I shot that in February; they shoot six months ahead of schedule," the actress notes. "It aired around the same time that this was going down, which kind of sounded like, 'Oh, my gosh, I'm just the hottest commodity on daytime! But the timing was just a coincidence. It's just one episode there [on DAYS] and two here [on GH], but I'm grateful and I'm happy and it was wonderful to be on set again and to get to see so many people that I've worked with, including so many ONE LIFE TO LIVE-ers in production and on set at GENERAL HOSPITAL."
